Terms of Trade

Last updated: 31 October 2026

These terms apply to all work carried out by Apparent Power NT Pty Ltd (ABN 22 681 233 312), trading as Marine Electricians Darwin. NT Electrical Contractor Licence C 4483. By accepting a quote or booking work, you agree to these terms. Your quote or invoice sets out the specific prices, fees and timeframes for your job.

Quotes

  • Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote.
  • Quotes are based on the information and access available at the time. Hidden faults, corrosion, non-compliant existing wiring or access issues found during the job may change the price; we will tell you before proceeding.
  • Equipment prices may change if supplier pricing changes before the order is placed.

Call-outs and attendance

  • Service, fault-finding, after-hours and emergency call-outs are charged at our current rates, which we confirm with you when you book.
  • Travel outside the Darwin area, including Bynoe Harbour, Cox Peninsula and island locations, is quoted separately and may include boat, ferry or flight costs.
  • You must provide safe access to the vessel. If we cannot access the vessel at the agreed time, a call-out fee may still apply.

Deposits

A deposit may be required before we order equipment or start larger jobs. If one applies, it will be shown on your quote. Deposits for specially ordered equipment are non-refundable once the order is placed.

Variations

Any change to the agreed scope will be confirmed with you before the extra work is done, and charged at our current rates or as quoted.

Payment

  • Invoices are due by the date shown on the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Commercial accounts are subject to approval.
  • Equipment remains the property of Apparent Power NT Pty Ltd until paid for in full.
  • Overdue accounts may incur reasonable recovery costs.

Warranty

We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and we will help you with claims. The workmanship warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water ingress or impact, lightning or storm damage, or work modified by others.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that law.

Compliance documentation

Compliance documentation, drawings and test results are released once the related invoice has been paid in full.
